The links below lead to webpages I like or admire, or to musicians I respect. They are in no way a comprehensive list of links to guitar sites or guitar music. If you feel your site should be included in the list, send me an email.
Guitarists:
I heard Jan Bartlema in concert last year, and I met him after a masterclass. He his simple, unpretentious, friendly. He play contemporary music which is interesting and fun to listen to. One has to know the guitar and guitar technique to realize how difficult are the pieces he plays effortlessly.
I have the greatest admiration for Pepe Romero and his brother Angel. Both are outstanding guitarists joining technical mastery to musical sensitivity and knowledge.
David Russell has recorded some of the CDs of guitar music which have become, for me, a reference. Recording the complete work of Tarrega is in itself an outstanding achievement.
Oscar Guzman is a new star in flamenco music. He lives and breathes flamenco. His technique is flawless. His speed is incredible. His musicality is overwhelming.
Guitar Associations:
I am impressed with the thoughtfulness and the comprehensiveness of the site of the Los Angeles Classical Guitar Association. If you are looking for music-sheet, books, videos, their inventory is excellent.
Music sheets:
The Tecla editions are the closest you could get to the original. Lots of free downloads.
A lot of fun stuff at Dirk's Guitar Page. All free to download.
